Office space designed for Ashurst, a leading international law firm, provides work spaces that simultaneously reflect the Times Square locale as well as Ashurst’s global brand attributes of openness, egalitarian governance and innovative thinking.
Lever House Office

Connecting two floor of the Lever House, an icon of modernism, we used the inherent logic of the building, creating a rational layout that emphasized the historic, open curtain wall. As a counterpoint, framed by this Cartesian logic, we introduced subtle non-orthogonal geometries.

An existing three story parking garage was converted into gallery space, offices, and art storage. The owner’s offices, showroom and the support offices each take their cues from the existing building’s tripartite spatial configuration.

Embracing the industrial heritage of the space, the West Chelsea neighborhood and an extremely tight budget, the shell was left mostly unaltered. New elements within the shell are designed with a clean simplicity that is both pragmatic and flexible.
