At Slade Architecture, we believe in the transformative power of design to make a positive impact. With a passion for creative solutions, we work closely with our clients and partners to meet project goals within budget while delivering unexpected benefits. Our work spans a broad spectrum, from homeless shelters and hospitality spaces to retail guidelines in public housing. This diverse experience across scales and sectors enables us to bring innovative solutions to each unique project, driven by a commitment to improve the built environment wherever possible.
Founded in 2002 by Hayes and James Slade, our New York-based, minority-owned firm is recognized for its impact and versatility, having completed over 120 projects with simplicity and intention. We approach every project as a collaboration, merging concept with functionality and tailoring our structured design process to meet specific needs.
Our work has received extensive recognition both domestically and internationally, with awards from Progressive Architecture, the New York AIA, Interior Design Magazine, and the NYC Design Commission. In 2008, we were honored to be selected by Herzog & de Meuron for the Ordos 100 project in Inner Mongolia, China, where we joined an elite group of international architects to design a 10,000-square-foot villa.
This acclaim draws some of the most talented young architects and designers to our firm, where we operate in a collaborative and agile environment. As a small, adaptable team, we partner with specialized individuals or groups as needed, utilizing technology to refine our designs, communicate effectively with clients, and enhance collaboration.
For us, the true measure of success lies in the work itself.
